Panic & Anxiety Attack Cure – The All Natural, No Medication Way!

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

If you’ve read any of the other stuff on this site you’ll know that I used to suffer bad panic attacks. You’ll also know that I tried to stop them with medication only to end up just as bad if not worse.

Well, you may also be glad to know that I eventually got my panic attacks under control using all natural methods, no drugs at all.

Here are a few things to be aware of about panic & anxiety disorders and treatments.

Are panic attacks the same as social anxiety disorder?

Yes, more or less. The medical profession tends to group together panic attacks, anxiety attacks, social anxiety disorder and other names.

The fact is they all boil down to being the same thing really. You may have a few different symptoms and causes but at the end of the day you are still suffering some form of irrational stressful episode.

Which is the same as saying you are having a panic attack, or an anxiety attack or even a social anxiety disorder attack.

Can a drug free treatment for panic & anxiety attacks be used on children and the elderly?

Most definitely. In fact if my child or elderly parent were suffering the same as I was I’d be very reluctant to give them some of the drugs that get prescribed for these anxiety problems.

In my opinion a drug free treatment is far more desirable than risking the side effects that come with some of these drugs.

What type of drugs do get prescribed for anxiety & panic attacks?

There are many different names from a handful of drug groups but you must realise that none of them are a cure for panic attacks.

They will treat the symptoms to lessen the anxiety you are feeling but they are not a cure. In fact these drugs are not designed to be given to you for prolonged periods so once your doctor decides you need to stop taking them you are back to square one.

Imagine having six months or so of relative calm if you found a drug that works. Only to then realise that on such and such a date you are going to be back in the full grip of your anxiety attacks.

I’ve been there and it’s not a nice thought.

Some of the types of drugs that can be given out are Beta Blockers. These work by stopping your heart racing. But they come with a whole host of side effects.

Anti-depressants are another popular choice by the medical profession for panic and anxiety disorders. One recent episode with an anti-depressant drug was giving users a side effect where they were having suicidal tendencies.

Given the risks of taking any type of drug, let alone one that won’t cure your anxiety, I would go for the natural methods every time.

I only wish I hadn’t spent nearly two years testing various cocktails of drugs.
